Azizul Haque Islamabadi, organising secretary of Hefajat-e-Islam, was arrested from Chattogram yesterday.
Members of Detective Branch and Rab jointly arrested the Hefajat leader and brought him to Dhaka, said Asaduzzaman, deputy commissioner (Motijheel Division) of Dhaka metropolitan Police.
He was produced before a Dhaka Court, seeking seven-day remand in a case filed with Paltan Police Station, he added.
