Bangladesh reports 101 COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours

101 more people died of COVID-19 and 3,473 others were detected with coronavirus infection across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours ending at 8:00am on Saturday.

With the new figures, the number of COVID-19 cases rose to 7,15,252 and the number of deaths hit 10,283 according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

A total of 16,185 samples were tested in the past 24 hours and 21.46 per cent of them tested positive for COVID-19, the DGHS said in its daily update.

Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 confirmed the first cases of COVID-19 and the first death on March 18.

So far, 6,08,815 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the country, including 5,907 in the past 24 hours.
