Two female workers of a juice factory in Narayanganj succumbed to burn injuries while over 50 others were injured in a fire incident on Thursday.
Eleven units of the Fire Service were working to douse the fire at Hashem Food and Beverage in Kornogop area of Bhulta till the filing of the report at 9:35pm.
The fire erupted around 5pm, fire officials said, without giving any details.
The deceased workers are Mina Akter, 40, and Swapna Rani, 38, according to Station Officer of Kanchan Fire Service Shah Alam.
Eight to ten severely injured persons were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Others are taking treatment at US Bangla Medical College Hospital at Rupganj.
Shah Alam said they were trying to save the people, still trapped in the seven-storey building.
Some of the workers jumped off the windows and sustained injuries while some others injured in stampede.
