Japan has sent 2.45 lakh AstraZeneca vaccines under the COVAX facility today.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki Ito have received the vaccines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 3:00pm today.
This is the first consignment out of the 2.9 million vaccines that Japan will be providing to Bangladesh.
This comes as a good news for the 15 lakh Bangladeshis who got the first dose but were waiting for the second dose as India halted the export of AstraZeneca vaccines in March this year.
