110 more die at Covid units in nine districts

A total of 110 patients died at the Covid units of hospitals in nine districts in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Sunday morning.

The districts are Khulna, Rajshahi, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Barishal, Chattogram, Satkhira and Mymensingh.

Of the deceased, 11 died in four hospitals in Khulna, 14 died in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, 19 in Kushtia, six in Chuadanga, eight in Meherpur, 15 in Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, 11 in Chattogram, nine in Satkhira Medical College Hospital and 17 more patients died in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital during the time, New Age correspondents in the districts, quoting officials of the hospitals and health department, reported.

Of the deceased, 63 were Covid patients and 47 had symptoms, according to the reports.

In Khulna, five patients — two Covid positive patients and three having Covid symptoms — died in the Covid Dedicated Hospital, three Covid patients died in Gazi Medical College Hospital, two in Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Hospital and one more Covid patient died in Khulna General Hospital, New Age correspondent in Khulna, quoting officials of the hospitals, reported.

our Rajshahi University correspondent, quoting Rajshahi Medical College Hospital director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany, reported that 14 patients — 10 Covid positive patients and four having symptoms — died at the Covid unit of the hospital in the past 24 hours.

New Age Islamic University correspondent, quoting Kushtia civil surgeon Anowarul Islam, reported that 19 people — 15 Covid positive patients and four having symptoms — died in the Covid unit of Kushtia Sadar Hospital during the time.

In Chuadanga, one Covid positive patients and five others having symptoms died at the Covid unit of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital during the time, Chuadanga civil surgeon ASM Maruf said.

In Meherpur, eight people — three Covid positive patients and five having symptoms — died in the district, the district civil surgeon said.

Our correspondent in Barishal, referring to a release by Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, reported that a total of 15 patients — four Covid positive patients and 11 having Covid symptoms — died at the hospital’s Covid unit in the past 24 hours ending 8:00am on Sunday.

New Age correspondent in Chattogram, quoting the district civil surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, reported that a total of 11 Covid positive patients died at hospitals in Chattogram in past 24 hours.

Our correspondent in Satkhira, quoting the SaMCH superintendent Kudrat-e-Khuda, reported that one Covid positive patient and eight others having Covid symptoms died at the Covid unit of the hospital during the period.

Our correspondent in Mymensingh, quoting the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital’s Covid unit focal person Mahiuddin Khan Moon, reported that 17 patients — 10 Covid positive patients and seven others having symptoms — died in the Covid unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital during the time.
