Covid-19 vaccine: 10 lakh Sinopharm doses reach Dhaka

Ten lakh doses of Sinopharm's Covid-19 vaccine arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:20am tonight.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carried the vaccine from China's Beijing Capital International Airport, the national flag carrier said in a press release.

Two more Biman flights will land in Dhaka with vaccines from China early on July 30.

Earlier today, three Dreamliners (one Boeing 787 and two Boeing 787-8) of Biman left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for China to bring a total of three million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to the country.

The airline is transporting vaccines, ventilators and other protective equipment at an affordable cost during the Covid-19 pandemic in strict compliance with international aviation policy and the World Health Organization's safety policy.

Biman earlier brought four million doses of Sinopharm vaccine to Bangladesh through four flights on July 2, 3, 17 and 18.
