Bangladesh reports 212 more Covid deaths

Bangladesh logged and additional Covid deaths of 212 people and 13,862 cases in 24 hours until Friday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 20,467 and infections to 12,40,115 since it had recorded the first death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 30.77 per cent.

Among the deceased, 119 are male and 93 female are patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 45,004 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 639 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 77,09, 914samples as of July 30.

In the past 24 hours, 13,975 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 10,64,195.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 65 and Chattogram logged 53 deahts.

Reports received from Khulna, Rajshahi, Bogura, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Faridpur, Barishal, Patuakhali, Chattogram, Satkhira, and Mymensingh said that at least 113 patients died at the Covid units of hospitals in the districts in 24 hours ending Friday morning.

Of them, 69 were Covid patients, 42 had symptoms and two had post-Covid complications.
