Bangladesh records 187 Covid-19 deaths in 24hr

Covid-19 continued to take its toll on Bangladesh as the virus infected 6,684 new cases in the past 24 hours ending at 8:00am on Sunday.

During the period, Covid-19 claimed the lives of 187 people, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

With the new cases and deaths, the country so far tallied 14,18,902 cases and 24,175 deaths.

DGHS, in the daily update, said that 33,001 samples were tested across the country in the past 24 hours and 20.25 per cent of them tested positive for COVID-19.

First coronavirus cases were detected in in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020, and the first Covid-19 death was recorded on March 18.
