3 dead, at least 5 injured as train hits microbus in Moulvibazar

Three people died, and at least five others were injured, when a Sylhet-bound 'Parabat Express' train rammed into a Noah microbus at the Bhatera area in Moulvibazar's Kulaura upazila today.

The deceased could not be identified immediately, reports our local correspondent quoting the police.

Kulaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Binoy Bhushan Roy said that three bodies have been recovered so far, and the injured have been taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Quoting locals and eyewitnesses, Kulaura Railway Station Master Muhibur Rahman said that the train hit the microbus when it attempted to cross the rail line in a hurry.

The accident took place today at 12.30 pm, leaving three dead on the spot, he added.
