Covid claims 65, infects 2,710 more in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 65 more people and infected 2,710 in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Monday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 26,628 and infections to 15,17,166 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 9.82 per cent.

Among the deceased, 32 are male and 33 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 27,595 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 789 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 90,91,610 samples as of September 5.

In the past 24 hours, 4,124 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 14,55,187.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 17 and Chattogram logged 13 deaths.
