58 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours, current positivity rate 8.76%

Fifty-eight people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours, till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 26,794 and the death rate stands at 1.76 percent.

A total of 29,541 samples were tested across the country and at least 2,588 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,524,890 added the release.

The current positivity rate is 8.76 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 16.62 percent.

At least 3,617 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,468,211 and the recovery rate is 96.28 percent.

Among the 58 deceased, 35 were men and 23 were women.

Of them, two were between 11-20, two between 21-30, seven between 41-50, 16 between 51-60, 16 between 61-70, seven between 71-80 and six between 81-90, one between 91-100 and one over 100 years old, added the release.
