Covid claims 48, infects 1,327 more in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 48 more people and infected 1,327 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Saturday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 26,880 and infections to 15,28,542 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 7.03 per cent.

Among the deceased, 22 are male and 26 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 18,869 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 800 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 92,21,659 samples as of September 11.

In the past 24 hours, 3,168 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 14,75,235.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 22 and Chattogram logged 12 deaths.
