Covid claims 41, infects 1,953 more in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 41 more people and infected 1,953 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Monday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 26,972 and infections to 15,32,366 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 7.69 per cent.

Among the deceased, 25 are male and 16 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 25,388 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 803 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 92,72,121 samples as of September 12.

In the past 24 hours, 4,112 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 14,82,933.

In case of the divisions, both Dhaka and Chattogram divisions logged the highest death of 14 people each.
