Covid claims 51, infects 1,901more in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 51 more people and infected 1,901 in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Wednesday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,058 and infections to 15,36,341 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 6.64 per cent.

Among the deceased, 32 are male and 19 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 28,615 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 800 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 93,32,460 samples as of September 10.

In the past 24 hours, 3,873 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 14,90,541.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 20 and Chattogram logged 11 deaths.
