2 killed, 4 injured in Bogura road accident

Two people were killed and four others injured as a bus collided with a battery run auto rickshaw at the Jhopgari area on the Dhaka -Rangpur highway around 8am today.

The deceased were identified as Anowara Begum (50) and Hamidun Begum (55) both from Namabala village under Bogura Sadar upazila, our Bogura correspondent reports quoting Sub-Inspector Rahim Rana, of the Upashahor Police Outpost under the Sadar Police Station.

The four injured are Jui (16), Rakhimoni (13), M Azhar Ali (60) and Abdur Razzak (50) of the Namabala village. They are under treatment at the TMSS Medical College and Hospital, said police.

Locals and police rescued the two victims and sent them to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor pronounced them dead, said police.

"The bus fled the scene immediately after the accident. We are handing over the deceased's bodies to their families," said Md Selim Reza, officer-in-charge of the Sadar Police Station.
