Covid claims 38 more lives, infects 1,907 in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 38 more people and infected 1,907 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Friday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,147 and infections to 15,40,110 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 6.41 per cent.

Among the deceased, 13 are male and 25 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 29,756 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 808 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 93,93,365 samples as of September 17.

In the past 24 hours, 2,919 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 14,97,009.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 17 and Chattogram logged seven deaths.
