Covid claims 35 more lives, infects 1,190 in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 35 more people and infected 1,190 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Saturday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,182 and infections to 15,41,300 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 6.05 per cent.

Among the deceased, 16 are male and 29 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 19,668 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 808 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 94,13,033 samples as of September 18.

In the past 24 hours, 1,645 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 14,98,654.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 19 and Chattogram logged six deaths.
