Covid claims 26 more lives, infects 1,562 in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 26 more people and infected 1,562 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Tuesday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,277 and infections to 15,45,800 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 4.69 per cent.

Among the deceased, 16 are male and 10 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 33,327 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 810 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 94,98,414 samples as of September 21.

In the past 24 hours, 1,603 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,04,709.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 15 people.
