Bangladesh reports 7 more Covid deaths

Covid claimed the lives of seven more people and infected 466 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Thursday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,737 and infections to 15,64,885 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 2.16 per cent.

Among the deceased, three are male and four are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 21,568 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 829 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 1,00, 42,265 samples as of October 14.

In the past 24 hours, 695 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,26,368.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka division logged the highest death toll of three people and two others died in Chattogram division.
