26 arrested in DMP's anti-narcotics drive

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 26 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Saturday (Oct 16).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 396 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 162 grams of heroin and 6.15 kg of cannabis from them.

DMP's Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Hafiz Al Asad has confirmed the news.

Based on information, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, he said.

A total of 19 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act, the DMP official added.
