Iqbal brought to Cumilla Police lines from Cox's Bazar

Iqbal Hossain, who was arrested from Cox's Bazar beach last night, has been brought to Cumilla Police Lines.

He was brought to the Police lines at 12 noon today.

He was not taken to the office of the Superintendent of Police as per the earlier announcement and was instead taken to the police lines.

Cumilla Assistant Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Sohan told reporters at Police Lines, "The arrestee Iqbal Hossain was handed over to Cumilla Additional Superintendent of Police Tanvir Ahmed around 12:35pm."

Cumilla Superintendent of Police Faruk Ahmed told The Daily Star that a man named Iqbal Hossain was arrested from Sugandha Point of the Cox's Bazar beach around 10:10 pm yesterday based on intelligence information.

After being questioned at the Cox's Bazar superintendent of police's office, a police team led by Cumilla Assistant Superintendent of Police (Sadar circle) Sohan left with Iqbal for Cumilla at 6am today, sources told The Daily Star.

Iqbal Hossain was identified as the man placing the Holy Quran at the Nanua Dighir Par puja mandap in Cumilla city on October 13.
