A Cumilla court today placed Iqbal Hossain and three others on seven-day remand in a blasphemy case.

Cumilla Senior Judicial Magistrate Mithila Jahan Mita passed the remand order this afternoon, reports our correspondent quoting Cumilla Additional Superintendent of Police M Tanvir Ahmed.

The court granted their seven-day remand after Sub-Inspector Mofizul Islam, also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court with a 10-day remand prayer, the additional SP said, adding that the other three accused in the case are Ikram, Faisal and Hafiz.

Earlier, police in Cumilla, after analysing CCTV footage, said Iqbal was the man, who placed the Holy Quran inside the mandap that night.
