A police constable has been identified over the incident of harassment – for wearing "teep" on her forehead – of a Tejgaon College teacher.
Confirming the development, DMP Commissioner Shafiqul Islam told The Daily Star today that departmental action will be taken against him.
The constable was identified as Nazmul Tareque, police sources said.
Asked whether the constable will be arrested, the DMP commissioner said there is no plan to arrest him yet, as he is not an accused in any case.
Tejgaon College teacher Lata Samaddar complained that a policeman harassed and hurled abusive words at her after seeing a teep on her forehead while she was going to the campus on Saturday (April 2, 2022).
When she protested, he threatened her and tried to run her over with his motorbike, she alleged.
