Dhaka, May 21 (Just News): Top officials of the government will be enjoying ceiling-free use of mobile connection, what the cabinet approved in the draft of a new policy today.
This came in the approval of Government Telephone, Cellular, Set and Internet Policy-2018 at today’s regular cabinet meeting.
‘All ministers, state ministers, deputy minsters and secretaries will get Tk 75,000 to buy android mobile sets. Earlier, they could spend Tk 15,000 on mobile set from the government fund,’ cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters at a press briefing after a cabinet meeting at the secretariat.
He said that cabinet also instructed the authorities concerned to include Supreme Court judges in the policy.
Officials, holding the rank of joint secretary and additional secretary and above, would get an allowance of Tk 1500 per month for using mobile phone, the cabinet secretary said, adding that earlier they used to get Tk 600 for this purpose.
