Dhaka, July 10 (Just News): The United States condemned the outrageous attack on peaceful demonstrations by university students in Bangladesh.
The US Embassy in Dhaka on Monday issued the statement followed the recent attacks on the protesters demanding publication of a gazette reforming quota system in government jobs and withdrawal of cases over violence during protests.
“The outrageous attack on peaceful demonstrations by university students, the future leaders of Bangladesh’s proud democracy, is counter to the founding principles upon which our countries are established,” the embassy said.
"The US government stands together in solidarity with those exercising their fundamental democratic rights - freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and the right to engage in peaceful protest,” it added.
