Child’s body recovered at Banglamotor, father held

Dhaka, Dec 5 (Just News): Police on Wednesday afternoon recovered the body of a three-year-old child from a house at Banglamotor in the capital where a man kept his two sons hostage since morning.

They also rescued another child, aged about 5, alive and detained the father, Akhtaruzzaman Kajol, breaking into the house at about 1:45pm, Shahbagh police station officer-in-charge Abul Hasan said.

He, however, could not say how the minor baby was killed.

The body was covered with a white cloth, he added.

The OC said that the joint forces including police, DB and RAB members, cordoned off the house since morning and Kajol was carrying a sharp weapon holding another child in his arm.

Quoting the OC, United News of Bangladesh reported tipped-off that two minor boys had been kept confined to a room on the first floor of a multi-storey building, a team of police cordoned off the building in the morning, said Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh police station.

Later, DB police and RAB members joined the police and tried to break open the door which was locked from inside.

After peeping into the house through the window, Shahidul Islam, deputy director of RAB-2, said the body of a boy was laid on a table covered with a white cloth.
