At least 13 workers were killed and two injured after a coal-laden truck overturned and crashed into a dormitory of a brick kiln labourers in Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla around 5:30 in the morning.
The deceased are the labourers of Kazi and Co. brick kiln in Narayanpur village of Ghoilpasha union in the upazila. Identities of the labourers could not be known immediately.
Police and local people said 12 of the labourers died on the spot as the truck overturned and crashed into the dormitory while another died on his way to hospital.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Cumilla Medical College Hospital, the police added.
Chauddagram police station officer-in-charge Abdullah Al Mahfuz said the coal-laden truck crashed into the dormitory of brick kiln while 15 labourers were sleeping there.
