Gono Forum president Kamal Hossain on Tuesday questioned the existence of the present Jatiya Sangsad.
He made the question after placing his wreath at the National Memorial at Savar on Independence Day.
‘Tell me is there any parliament at all? We have achieved a lot so far, but we must ensure a fair parliament with true public representatives who will fulfill the aspiration of the people, Kamal said.
‘For the attainment of the rights of the people, we need to carry out our movement together,’ he said.
Bangladesh National Party along with Gono Forum and some other parties joined the December-30 election in alliance under the banner of Jatiya Oikya Front. BNP bagged six seats while Gono Forum two in the election.
The alliance turned down the election results bringing the allegation of ‘massive vote robbery’ and decided not to join parliament.
