At least 25 shops were gutted in a fire that broke out at a kitchen market in Khilgaon area of Dhaka early today.
On information, 16 units of firefighters doused the fire around 5:35am, over two hours after it originated at the kitchen market, Lima Khanam, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters told.
Further details about the losses and the origin of the fire can be known after investigation, the official said.
A fireman by the name of Abu Musa, 35, sustained minor injuries while he was trying to douse the fire, she added.
