Six people were killed and at least 15 injured as a bus hit a roadside tree in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat this morning.
The incident took place around 9:15am when the bus carrying passengers from Rupsha to Mollahat hit a tree in Kakdanga area of the upazila after the driver lost control over the steering, reports our Bagerhat correspondent quoting police.
Two of the deceased were day labourers working beside the road while the four others were the bus driver and three passengers.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
On information, police and fire service officials rescued the injured and admitted them to a nearby hospital.
Sheikh Abu Jahid, officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model Police Station, confirmed the incident.
