Police arrested a youth from BKP area of Barguna on Thursday in connection with the killing of Barguna youth Shah Neyaj Rifat Sharif in front of his wife on Wednesday.
Abir Mohmmad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said they had detained the accused Chandan around 9:00am.
Dulal Sharif, the father of victim, 22, filed a case against 12 people in the morning, added the OC.
Rifat, 25, a resident of Sadar upazila, was hacked to death by four miscreants in front of the main gate of Barguna Government College on Wednesday mornoing.
The entire incident was captured in a surveillance camera which showed the miscreants hitting Rifat indiscriminately while his wife was trying to save him.
