A man was killed allegedly by his nephew at Shantipur Beturia village in Sujanagar upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Kalam Hossain, 45, son of Abdus Samad of the village.
Hadiul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Sujanagar Police Station, said Kalam and his brother Hanif had been at loggerheads over the ownership of a tree at the demarcation boundary of their houses.
An altercation took place betweek Kalam and Hanif’s son Ripon around 9 pm over the matter.
During the quarrel, Ripon stabbed Kalam indiscriminately, inflicting mortal wounds.
Later, he was taken to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
