Train communications between Rajshahi and other parts of the country remained suspended for 18 hours following derailment of nine wagons of an oil-carrying train at Haldiagachi in Charghat upazila on Wednesday evening.
Zahidul Islam, station master of Rajshahi Railway station, said three of the wagons were removed on Thursday morning while operation to salvage the other tankers is going on.
The authorities concerned have cancelled the schedule of all trains for Thursday morning due to the derailment of the train.
Earlier, nine wagons of the Chapainawabganj-bound oil-carrying train from Pabna veered off the tracks around 6:15 pm on Wednesday, halting train movement with different parts of the country.
