No change in India's vow to solve Teesta issue: Jaishankar

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today said that India continues to be committed to solving Teesta issue along with 53 other common rivers and his country would increase humanitarian assistance for Rohingyas in Bangladesh.

India wants quick, safe and sustainable repatriation of Rohingya refugees for the sake of India, Bangladesh and Myanmar, he said at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka after a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart AK Abdul Momen.

“India has been providing humanitarian assistance to Rohingyas in Bangladesh and it will do more in the future,” he added.

Asked about the Teesta issue, Dr S Jaishankar reiterated India’s stance to being committed to solving issues of 54 common rivers including the much-debated Teesta River.
