Police arrested an auto-rickshaw driver on Tuesday for allegedly molesting a female student of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET).
Police identified the arrestee as Shamsu Dolar alias Sumon, 35, son of late Amanullah of Bheripara in Rajpara of the city.
The victim, a third year student, filed a case with Boalia Police Station against Sumon and four others on August 20, a day after the incident.
In a statement, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police said evidence and witnesses point to Sumon’s involvement in the incident.
The court on Tuesday gave police seven days to interrogate him.
