Field officers must be present at offices from 9am to 9:40 am: Govt

Field-level government officers and employees have been directed to remain present at their offices from 9am to 9:40 am mandatorily, aiming to bring dynamism into government activities.

The Cabinet Division issued a circular in this regard on Thursday.

“It’s being observed that some [govt] officers and employees do not attend offices timely showing various excuses, including official/personal works, on their way to offices. As a result, it becomes difficult for people and officials and staff of other agencies to communicate with the officers concerned. This causes sufferings to general people as it slows down government works,” says the circular.

“It needs to be kept in mind while preparing office schedules that their [field officers and employees] office presence is not hampered from 9 am to 9:40 am,” the circular further says.

The circular, however, says this order will not be applicable for the officers providing VVIP/VIP protocols, tackling any major accident happened all of a sudden, or attending important meetings, or travelling as per permitted schedules.

The field officers and employees must come to their offices by 9am and perform their regular duties staying there until 9:40 am to facilitate citizens receiving public services and thus bring dynamism into government activities, adds the circular.
