Amit Shaha, a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s Buet unit, was arrested from the city’s Sabujbagh area on Thursday over the killing of Abrar Fahad.
Amit is a 16th batch student of civil engineering department.
Tipped-off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in the area and arrested him around 11am, said Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) (media).
Abrar, a second year EEE student, was beaten to death on Monday reportedly by Chhatra League leaders at his residential hall.
