Train services on Dhk-M’sing route restored after 7 hrs

Train communications between Dhaka and Mymensingh resumed early Friday after seven hours of suspension following derailment of five bogies of a train at Fatema Nagar in Trishal upazila.

Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Mymensingh Government Railway Police, said five bogies of Dhaka-bound ‘Mohonganj Express’ train veered off the tracks around 9:30 pm on Thursday, halting train movement on the route.

Mymensingh-bound ‘Ekata Express’ train got stuck during the suspension of rail services, causing immense sufferings to the commuters.

However, the train services on the route resumed around 4:30 am after a rescue team salvaged the derailed bogies of the train, said Mosharraf.
