Police detained three people on Friday night over the murder of two women in city’s Dhanmondi area.
The detainees are – electrician Belayet, security guard Nuruzzaman, and Bacchu Mia.
‘We are interrogating them,’ said Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi police station.
On Friday evening, the bodies of Afroza Begum, 65, and Diti, 19, a domestic help, were recovered from a flat on the third floor of house No. 21, on road 28.
Kazi Monir Uddin Tarim, deputy managing director of Creative Group and son-in-law of Afroza, said gold ornaments and cash were missing from the house.
Bachchu Mia is the bodyguard of Afroza’s husband.
Tarim also said Bachchu recently brought a new domestic help for his mother-in-law.
CCTV footage showed her getting out of the house on the day of the incident.
Police said they were looking for her in connection with the murder.
