Launch services on all the routes across the country resumed this morning after 36 hours of suspension due to cyclonic storm “Bulbul”.
Around 13 launches left Sadarghat launch terminal from 6:00am, Mobarak Hossain Mojumder, public relation officer of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), told around 10:30am.
Vessels on 42 routes started operation but the presence of passengers were low, he said.
On Friday night, BIWTA suspended launch services on all routes sensing adverse impact of cyclonic storm “Bulbul” which claimed seven lives and caused huge damages mostly lashed in the coastal districts with gusty winds and brought copious amounts of rain.
