A writ petition was filed with the High Court on Sunday seeking its directives to the authorities concerned for monitoring and controlling onion price.
Supreme Court Lawyer Tanvir Ahmed filed the writ petition.
The writ petition also sought formation of an independent probe body to find out the reasons behind the exorbitant price of onion.
The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Dr K M Hafizul Alam heard the petition and asked the petitioner to wait for another week.
The writ also sought issuance of a rule to explain why the failure of the authorities concerned to control onion price should not be declared illegal.
Commerce secretary, agriculture secretary, anti-corruption commission and other concerned were made respondents to the rule.
