Second edu ministry official goes missing in 3 days

Dhaka, Jan 21 (Just News): Yet another education ministry employee has gone missing in a span of just three days, creating panic among the officials of the ministry.

The missing official is Md Motaleb Hossain, personal officer (PO) to the education minister Nurul Islam Nahid.

A number of education ministry officials told a daily that several people came by a microbus and picked up Motaleb Hossain from Basila area in the city yesterday (Saturday).

He went to supervise the construction work of his multi-storeyed building there, they said.

The education minister, after a meeting with the ministry high-ups on Sunday, told newsmen “We are yet to find out who picked up the two officials and why.”

He said he talked to the home minister, inspector general of police (IGP) and the director general of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and others in this regard. “I have requested them to inform me whenever they get any clue of their whereabouts.”

Motaleb’s family members filed a general diary with Hazaribagh police station in city on Saturday.

In another instance on the day, unknown people went to the house of another official of the ministry, Abu Alam Khan, and enquired about him, the education ministry officials said.

On Friday, Nasir Uddin, an upper division assistant (UDA) and also the secretary general of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Government Staff and Officials’ welfare forum, went missing.

These three officials and employees of the ministry had been assigned different duties in the education ministry’s picnic on Friday.
