Preparedness for cyclone, monsoon priority in Rohingya camps: IOM

Dhaka, Jan 29 (Just News): Bangladesh Immigration and Passports Department has registered 1.04 million Rohingya people through biometric registration, says the UN migration agency- IOM.

Preparedness for the cyclone and monsoon season is priority in Rohingya camps,according to a report produced by Inter Sector Coordination Group (ISCG) in collaboration with humanitarian partners.

As of January 27, the Armed Forces Division (AFD) has completed 7.7 kilometers of the main road in the Kutupalong Bakukhali extension.

The AFD has also completed 2 kilometers of an additional access road.

Violence in Rakhine State which began on August 25 in 2017 has driven an estimated 688,000 Rohingyasacross the border into Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh,according to IOM Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) Baseline survey.
