UGC issues 14 directives for private universities conducting online classes

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued 14 directives under two alternative proposals for private universities in conducting online classes to finish their ongoing semesters.

UGC Chairman Kazi Shahidullah confirmed the matter on Thursday.

The directives were issued as per demands placed during a videoconference meeting between Education Minister Dipu Moni, UGC officials and vice chancellors of public and private universities on April 30.

At the virtual meeting, the Education Ministry and the UGC reached six decisions to ensure that universities could properly run their academic activities online, including exams and admissions.

The decisions were accepted by the VCs of public, private and national universities without any reservations.
