Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, the new mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, sacked two top DSCC officials on the first day in the office on Sunday.
In an official order—DSCC immediate past chief revenue officer (active) Yusuf Ali Sarder and additional chief engineer Asaduzzaman were sacked hours after Taposh had held a meeting with the top officials after taking charge as the DSCC mayor.
The fired officials were ‘much closer’ to ex-mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon while they were also allegedly involved in corruption— as reported in different media.
An official order read that they were fired under the section of 64 (2) of the Dhaka Dakkhin City Corporation Chakuri Bidhi 2019. The officials were asked to receive their 90 days salary.
