S Alam Group director dies of Covid-19 in Chittagong

Business giant S Alam Group’s Director Morshedul Alam has died of Covid-19 at a hospital in Chittagong.

The deceased died at 10:30pm on Friday while undergoing treatment at the isolation unit of Chittagong General Hospital.

Dr Ashim Kumar Nath, superintendent of Chittagong General Hospital, confirmed the matter.

Morshedul Alam was admitted to the hospital on Thursday evening. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

He was also suffering from cardiac complications.

Morshedul Alam is the older brother of Saiful Alam Masud, Chairman of S Alam Group.

Previously, six of Morshedul Alam’s family members including himself were diagnosed with Covid-19.

Coronavirus has so far infected 30,205 people and killed 432 people in Bangladesh.
