Sunbeams School founding principal Niloufer Manzur dies from Covid-19

Niloufer Manzur, the founder and principal of Sunbeams School in Dhaka, has died from Covid-19 infection.

She died while receiving treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka at 2:15 am on Tuesday.

Niloufer Manzur, who was involved with the school for the last 45 years, was also the wife of Syed Manzur Elahi, chairman of conglomerate Apex Group.

Earlier on Sunday, both Syed Manzur Elahi, one of Bangladesh's leading businesspersons, and Niloufer Manzur were tested positive for Covid-19.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, their son Syed Nasim Manzur said: "My father is being treated at home while my mother is undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital [CMH]."
