Ruling party captures voting centres in municipality elections: Mosharraf

Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Saturday said that the ruling party activists captured voting centres in municipality elections.

He was addressing reporters at the Gulshan office of the party chairperson in the morning after attending at a BNP sub-committee meeting in observance of the golden jubilee of independence.

Moshrraf said, ‘I have got the news that the ruling party men barred the agents of BNP candidates to enter the voting centres. In many centres, they forced them to leave and barred BNP supporters to enter the centres.’

The local administrations helped the ruling party men to capture the centres. The government had completely destroyed the election system, Mosharraf added.

Standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, central leaders Abdus Salam, freedom fighter Ishtiaque Aziz Ulfat and others attended the meeting where central leader Shahjahan Omar chaired the event.
