Police on Saturday foiled a protest rally of Bangladesh Nationalist Party organised in front the National Press Club in Dhaka.
Police attacked the rally and forced the leaders and activists to leave the venue while the party’s standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain was addressing the programme, organisers said.
BNP organised the protest rally as part of its countrywide protest programme against initiative of cancelling the gallantry award of freedom fighter Ziaur Rahman, also the founder of the party.
BNP Dhaka South City unit president Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel chaired the programme.
