AL now depends on machine losing confidence on people: BNP

Dhaka, Aug 30 (Just News): Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Thursday claimed that ruling Awami League was now depending on 'machine' (EVM) losing confidence on people.

Alamgir categorically asked the Election Commission to shun the initiative to use of 'democracy demolishing' and 'misleading' Electronic Voting Machines in the next parliament polls likely to be held in December.

He questioned why all on a sudden, the Election Commission by whose instruction had gone out to secretly and hurriedly buy the 'controversial' EVM as part of plan to make whom victory in the election.

The secretary general warned that people at any cost would resist the 'ill-attempt' of the commission.

He cautioned that each paisa to be spent for purchasing the controversial machines would be considered as 'personal liability' of top persons of the Election Commission.

BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mahbubur Rahman, Abdul Moyeen Khan and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, among others, were present.
